Recording still images

1	Rotate the Jog Dial navigator on the CLIE Launcher screen to select CLIE Camera, and press the Jog Dial navigator. Or, tap the CLIE Camera icon on the CLIE Launcher screen. The CLIE Camera application starts. Tip You can also start the CLIE Camera application by pressing the CAPTURE/REC button on your CLIÉ handheld by the default setting. To assign other application to start from this button, see “CLIE Camera menu items.”
2	Adjust the screen position, and aim the lens at the subject of your photograph. To take a picture of yourself, rotate the lens towards you. The mirror image of yourself will be automatically displayed on the screen. (However, the captured image will be a mirror-reversed image.)
3	Press CAPTURE/REC button on your CLIÉ handheld to record an image. Or, tap the CAPTURE icon on the screen. You can also press the Jog Dial navigator or the Space key on the keyboard of your CLIÉ handheld to record images. The captured images will be saved on your CLIÉ handheld or the “Memory Stick” media depending on the setting you have made in the Camera preferences.

Using the zoom function

Using the zoom function, you can capture a closer image of the subject of your photograph.

	Tap (Zoom) and select the desired zoom level from x 1 or x 2. The image is recorded in the selected zoom level.

Note

The digital zoom used on the CLIE Camera application causes the image to reflect slower on the viewfinder and the resolution of the image to get lower when you use zoom (x 2) function.

Using the self-timer

Using the self-timer function, you can have the camera to start recording 10 seconds after pressing the CAPTURE button.

1	Adjust the screen position, and aim the lens at whatever you want to take a picture of.
2	Tap (Timer). The timer button lights in orange.
3	Press CAPTURE/REC button on your CLIÉ handheld to record an image. Or, tap the CAPTURE icon on the screen. You can also press the Jog Dial navigator, or the Space key on the keyboard of your CLIÉ handheld. An image will be recorded automatically in about 10 seconds. The captured images will be recorded on your CLIÉ handheld or the “Memory Stick” media depending on the setting you have made in the Camera preferences

On storing images

When you have selected the Memory Stick for Save as on the Camera preference screen, the recorded images are stored in the \DCIM\***MSDCF folder (“***” are numbers from 101 to 999). For specific location of the folder, see “On files stored in “Memory Stick” media.”

Viewing recorded images

Thumbnails of the three latest images are displayed on the screen. To view other images, start the CLIE Viewer application. You can start the CLIE Viewer application from the CLIE Camera application.

	Tap . The CLIE Viewer application starts. Press the CAPTURE/REC button on the CLIÉ handheld to return to the CLIE Camera application.
