Creating a new Address Book entry

On the Application Launcher screen, rotate the Jog Dial navigator to select Address.
Or, tap Address on the Application Launcher screen. You can also start the application by pressing the Address Book button on the front panel.
The Address screen is displayed.

Tap New.
The Address Edit screen appears.

Enter the last name of the person you want to add to Address Book.
The first letter of each field (except numeric and e-mail fields) is automatically capitalized.

Tap First name.
The cursor shifts to the first name field.
You can also use Graffiti writing to move the cursor to the next field by entering .

Enter the first name in the First name field.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 to enter the other items of information that you want to include.
You can tap the arrow next to some items and select other types of phone numbers or e-mail addresses from the displayed drop-down list. You can select from Work, Home, Fax, Other, E-mail, Main, Pager, and Mobile.

To move to the next page of information, tap the scroll arrow on the bottom-right corner of the screen or rotate the Jog Dial navigator.

After you finish entering all the necessary information, tap Done.
The Address screen is displayed again.
Note
When you use a semicolon (;) in Company, Title, or Phone number fields, the line will break at that point when you sent the information via the infrared communications port.
Tip
You can also use the Palm Desktop for CLIÉ software to create entries on your computer and then download them to your CLIÉ handheld in your next HotSync(R) operation. For details on the HotSync operation, refer to the Handbook.
