Overview of the playback procedures
Follow the procedures below to play audio files using the Audio Player application. (Playback procedure varies for ATRAC3 format audio files and MP3 format audio files.)
Playing ATRAC3-format audio files on your CLIÉ handheld

Install the SonicStage software onto your computer from the supplied Installation CD-ROM.
You must install the SonicStage software to convert and transfer the audio files stored on your computer to your CLIÉ handheld. Read “Requirements for SonicStage” before installation.

Ready audio files using the SonicStage software.
Record audio CDs on the hard disk drive of your computer in ATRAC3 format, or convert MP3-format audio files to ATRAC3-format audio files using the SonicStage software. See “Importing audio files into your computer (in ATRAC3 format)” for details.

Transfer the audio files from your computer to your CLIÉ handheld.
Using the SonicStage software, check-out the audio files to your CLIÉ handheld. See “Transfer audio files from your computer to your CLIÉ handheld”.

Play audio files on your CLIÉ handheld.
A selected ATRAC3-format audio file transferred from your computer is played. See “Playing audio files on your CLIÉ handheld”.
Playing MP3-format audio files on your CLIÉ handheld

Ready MP3-format audio files on your computer.
Ready MP3-format audio files using a software for recording audio CDs in MP3 format. (You cannot create MP3 format audio file using the SonicStage software.)
