Beaming the files
You can beam files to another CLIÉ handheld via the infrared communications port.

Prepare the receiving and sending CLIÉ handhelds for beaming.
Make sure that the Beam Receive is set to On in the Preference menu. See Handbook supplied to your CLIÉ handheld for details.

Point the infrared communications port of the CLIÉ handhelds toward each other.
For best results, the sending and receiving CLIÉ handhelds should be 4 to 8 inches (approximately 10 to 20 centimeters) apart.

Press and hold the Home /Menu button, tap Data, then tap Beam.
The list of files appears.

Rotate the Jog Dial navigator to select the file that you want to send. Then, press the Jog Dial navigator.
Do not move the CLIÉ handhelds until the beaming is complete.
When the beaming is complete, the file appears on the receiving CLIÉ handheld.

Note
You can only send one file at a time.
To cancel the operation
Tap Cancel in step 3 or 4 above.
Sending files using Bluetooth
You can send files to another CLIÉ handheld using Bluetooth.

Prepare the receiving and sending CLIÉ handhelds for Bluetooth communication.
Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled in the Preference menu.
To use the Bluetooth function on your CLIÉ handheld, refer to the Handbook supplied with your CLIÉ handheld.

Press and hold the Home /Menu button, tap Data, then tap Send.
The list of files appears.

Tap and select a file that you want to send.
Send With dialog box appears.


Note
You can not send a file via SMS.

Tap Bluetooth, then tap OK.
Your CLIÉ handheld starts searching for a Bluetooth device.
Discovery Results screen appears.

Tap the check box and select a device to connect to, then tap OK.
The selected movie file is sent to the connected Bluetooth device.
When you send still images
The Send With dialog box appears.
Tap Bluetooth or Bluetooth (BIP), then tap OK.
For details, see “Transferring still images to or from a BIP compatible device.”
Note
The following items appear when the BIP is installed on your CLIÉ handheld.
Bluetooth: Select when transferring still images to another CLIÉ handheld.
Bluetooth (BIP): Select when transferring still images to a BIP compatible device such as a digital still camera or a computer.
BIP (Basic Imaging Profile for Bluetooth): A unified standard for image data transfer using the Bluetooth function..
Notes
You can only send one data file at a time.
“Bluetooth (BIP)” appears on the Send With dialog box only when you have selected a still image file. Using this function, you can send a still image file to another BIP compatible device, such as the BIP compatible CLIÉ handheld.
The data transfer function via a Bluetooth BIP is available when you have installed the Remote Camera application on your CLIÉ handheld.
This function is not available in some regions.
You cannot send files from the CLIE Viewer application using SMS, although SMS appears on the Send With dialog box.
To cancel the operation
Tap Cancel in step 3, 4, or 5 above.
Attaching the files to e-mails
You can attach the files managed in the CLIE Viewer application to e-mail messages using the CLIE Mail application. This function is available only when you have the CLIE Mail application installed on your CLIÉ handheld.

The screen for selecting image files appears.

Rotate the Jog Dial navigator to select a file that you want to attach and press the Jog Dial navigator.
Or, tap to select the desired file.
The CLIE Mail application starts and the Send with CLIE Mail screen appears on the screen.

Follow steps 4 to 6 of Writing and sending e-mails.
Note
If you select Send Now, the screen jumps to the Outbox list screen of the CLIE Mail application. If you select Send Later, the screen returns to CLIE Viewer.
