Elements of the edit screen



Basic tool bar
This tool bar displays the basic tools used in this application.

[1] Color button
Displays a dialog box to create your original color.

[2] Stroke width button
Changes the stroke width, letter size, spray size, or stamp size. Tap to change width or size after selecting the tool.

[3] Basic tools
Tap to select a tool. You can draw on canvas by dragging your stylus on the screen. For details, see “On basic tools”.

[4] REDO
Recovers the canceled operation when tapped right after UNDO (REDO).

[5] UNDO
Cancels the last operation you performed (UNDO).

[6] Tool bar extension icon
Displays the Extension Tool bar.

[7] Image title
Displays the title of the image currently edited.
Shows or hides the image title by tapping or on the Status bar.

Extension tool bar
The tool bar which displays additional functions that can be used in this application.

[8] Image size
Displays the size of the image currently edited.
Shows or hides the image title by tapping or on the Status bar.

[9] Color palette switch button
Changes the size of the color palette. When it is expanded, some buttons on the extension tool bar are hidden from the tool bar.

[10] Color palette
Shows colors and gray scale shades for drawing letters or objects.
The currently selected color is indicated on the color button.
Tap Color pallet switch button to display more colors. Some buttons may hide behind the color pallet by switching color pallet.

[11] Stamp tool
Applies stamp on the selected image. You can change the size of the stamp with Stroke width button.

[12] Spray tool
Gives a sprayed effect in selected color. You can change the size of the spray with Stroke width button.

[13] Filter button
Displays the Select Filter dialog box. Select to apply effect on the currently editing image.

[14] File button
Displays File Menu screen. You can select to create new canvas or save the edited image. You can either overwrite or save to new file.

[15] Application button
Tap to use the image you are editing in other applications. You can attach images to e-mail messages using the CLIE Mail application and paste the image on an album in the CLIE Album application.
On basic tools
Rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select a tool that you want to use, or tap on the icon.
If there is an arrow at the bottom right corner of the tool, press the Jog Dial™ navigator or tap the icon to display more tools.
Pencil: Creates a freehand line in the selected color/shade.
Brush: Creates a freehand line in the selected color/shade. The lines you draw will be thinner when you draw quickly, and thicker when you draw slowly.
Eraser: Deletes lines and shapes drawn on the canvas. You can also erase the edited objects on a saved file.
If you have selected Image Canvas on Select Canvas screen:
- Photographs will not be deleted using the eraser tool.
- Edited objects on images that you have selected on the Create Image Canvas screen cannot be erased.
Hand: Moves image. Drag with your stylus.
Magnify size: Enlarges up to x 16 the actual image size, focusing on the point you have tapped.
Reduce size: Reduces the size down to one-eighth of an image focusing on the point you have tapped.
Select color: Selects the color of the point you have tapped on the screen.
