Setting the Movie Recorder preferences
Before recording a movie, you need to select Preference settings such as type of effect that you want to use on the recorded movie and recording mode.
The setting remains until you change.

On the CLIE 3D Launcher screen, rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select Movie Rec and then press the Jog Dial™ navigator, or tap the Movie Rec icon on the CLIE 3D Launcher screen.
The Movie Recorder application starts.



Tip
You can set the Movie Recorder application to start by pressing the CAPTURE/REC button on your CLIÉ™ handheld. For details, see “Movie Recorder menu items.”

Tap (Preference).
The Preference screen appears.

Adjust the movie recorder preference as necessary.
Save to: Specifies where to save the recorded images. Select from Priority MS, MS, or Internal Media.
- Priority MS: Saves the images on the “Memory Stick™ ” media when it is inserted in your CLIÉ™ handheld. If there is no “Memory Stick™ ” media inserted in your CLIÉ™ handheld, the data will be saved to the Internal Media.
- MS: Saves the images on the “Memory Stick™ ” media.
- Internal Media: Saves the images on the Internal Media.
Bit rate: Tap and select the recording mode.
Time Limit: Select the maximum allowable recording time when REC button is tapped. Recording will automatically stop after this specified time.
File Number:
- Series:Numbers the files in recorded order even when you select a different storage media to save to.
- Reset: Numbers a new files after the existing movie files, if there were any already saved on a storage media that you are saving to.
Capture Sound Vol: Tap and select from High, Medium, and Low.
Brightness*: Select a brightness setting from -2 to +2.
White Balance*: Choose a white balance setting based on the lighting conditions. Select from Auto, Indoor A, Indoor B, and Outdoor.
- Auto: Automatically adjusts the white balance.
- Indoor A: Select when recording movies under incandescent light.
- Indoor B: Select when recording movies under fluorescent light.
- Outdoor: Select when recording outside.
Effect*: Changes the color and the contrast. Select from Off, B&W (monotone), Sepia (sepia tone), Neg.Art (negative art), and Solarize.
- Off: The effect is not selected.
- B&W: Select to record movies in black and white.
- Sepia: Select to record movies colored like an old photograph.
- Neg.Art: Select to record movies with colors reversed, as in negative films.
- Solarize: Select to record movies as if exposed to sun light.
* You can confirm the settings with the preview window in the Preference screen.

Tap OK.
To cancel the operation, tap Cancel.
