Recording still images

1	Rotate the Jog Dial(TM) navigator on the CLIE Launcher screen to select CLIE Camera, and press the Jog Dial(TM) navigator . Or, tap the CLIE Camera icon on the CLIE Launcher screen. The CLIE Camera application starts. (Above: The screen image of PEG-NX80V.) Tip You can also start the CLIE Camera application by pressing the CAPTURE button on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld by the default setting. To assign other application to start from this button, see “CLIE Camera menu items.”
2	Adjust the screen position, and aim the lens at the subject of your photograph. To take a picture of yourself, rotate the lens towards you. The mirror image of yourself will be automatically displayed on the screen. (However, the captured image will be a mirror-reversed image.)
3	Press the CAPTURE button on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld to record an image. Or, tap the CAPTURE icon on the screen. You can also press the Jog Dial(TM) navigator or the Space key on the keyboard of your CLIÉ(TM) handheld to record images. The captured images will be saved on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld or the “Memory Stick(TM)” media depending on the setting you have made in the Camera preferences.

On storing images

When you have selected the Memory Stick for Save as on the Camera preference screen, the recorded images are stored in the \DCIM\***MSDCF folder (“***” are numbers from 101 to 999). For specific location of the folder, see “About files stored on “Memory Stick(TM)” media.”

Using the self-timer

Using the self-timer function, you can capture a still image 10 seconds after pressing the CAPTURE button.

If you are using PEG-NX80V

1	Tap (Camera Preference). The Camera Preference screen appears.
2	Tap Self Timer, and select On.
3	Tap OK. An orange self timer indicator appears on the bottom right corner of the screen.
4	Press the CAPTURE button on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld. Or, tap the CAPTURE icon on the screen. Recording starts in 10 seconds.

If you are using PEG-NX73V

1	Tap (Timer). The timer button lights orange.
2	Press the CAPTURE button on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld Or, tap the CAPTURE icon on the screen. Recording starts in 10 seconds.

Using the zoom function

Using the zoom function, you can capture a closer image of the subject of your photograph.

	Tap (Zoom) and select the desired zoom level from x 1 or x 2. The image is recorded in the selected zoom level.

Note

The resolution of the image gets lower when you use zoom (x 2) function.

Using the CAPTURE light function (PEG-NX80V only)

You can turn on the light built-in on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.

	Tap . The CAPTURE light button lights orange. To cancel CAPTURE light, tap the button again.

You cannot use the CAPTURE light function under following conditions

-	When slow shutter mode is selected.
-	When the battery level is low on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.*

* When the battery level gets low, the CAPTURE light button flashes and then becomes inactive.

The CAPTURE light turns off automatically under following conditions

-	When you quit the CLIE Camera application.
-	When you have not captured any images for three minutes.
-	When the battery level is low on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.

Using Slow Shutter mode (PEG-NX80V only)

You can capture images clearly in a dark place.

1	Tap (Camera Preference). The Camera Preference screen appears.
2	Tap Scene, and select Slow Shutter (Light Off).
3	Tap OK.

Note

You cannot use CAPTURE light in Slow Shutter mode.
