Recording movies

1	On the CLIE Launcher screen, rotate the Jog Dial(TM) navigator to select Movie Rec and press the Jog Dial(TM) navigator . Or, tap the Movie Rec icon on the CLIE Launcher screen. The Movie Recorder application starts.
2	Adjust the screen position, and aim the lens at the subject. You can record yourself by rotating the lens towards you. A mirror image of yourself will be displayed on the viewfinder, but the recorded image will be a reverted image.
3	Press the CAPTURE button. Or, tap the REC icon on the screen. The recording starts.
4	Press the CAPTURE button again to stop recording. Or, tap the REC icon on the screen. The captured image will be recorded on a “Memory Stick(TM)” media.

Notes

•

Recording stops when you turn off your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.

•

You can record images with the screen panel closed (closed style).
The recording also continues when you close the screen panel after starting the Movie Recorder application.

•

If you set the HOLD button to the write-protect position during recording mode, the recording will not stop using the CAPTURE button or REC icon on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.

•

Do not remove the “Memory Stick(TM)” media while recording.

•

The recording stops automatically when space is running short on “Memory Stick(TM)” media.
You may still be able to record a short movie on the same “Memory Stick(TM)” media, but this is not a malfunction.

•

You may not be able to create a movie file if the recording was interrupted in any of the following ways.

-	When the “Memory Stick(TM)” media was removed during recording.
-	When the battery level is running low. This may happen when you start recording while charging the battery, and remove the CLIÉ(TM) handheld from the cradle before the battery was sufficiently charged.

Using the zoom function

You can zoom in on the subject you are aiming at to record a magnified view.

	Tap (zoom) and select a desired zoom level (x 1 or x 2). The subject you are currently aiming at is recorded in the selected zoom level.

Using the CAPTURE light function (PEG-NX80V only)

You can turn on the light built-in on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.

	Tap . The CAPTURE light button lights up orange. To cancel CAPTURE light, tap the button again.

Tip

You can turn on and off of the CAPTURE light during recording.

You cannot use the CAPTURE light function under following conditions

-	When the battery level is low on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.

The CAPTURE light turns off automatically under following conditions

-	When you quit the Movie Recorder application.
-	When you have not recorded any images for three minutes.
-	When the battery level is low on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.
