Memo Pad
Using the Memo Pad application, you can create brief memo on your CLIÉ
handheld.
Take notes
You can take notes or write down various information on the Memo
Pad. You can also copy and use the created memos on other applications. The
memos can be sorted into categories such as “Business” or “Personal”.
Read document files created on your computer
You can copy TXT (.txt)- or CSV (.csv, Comma Separated Value)-format document
files created on your computer to your CLIÉ handheld via a HotSync operation.
For example, you can save documents and articles that
you have found on the Internet in text format and read it later on your CLIÉ
handheld using this function.
Note
A record or “memo” can contain up to 4,000 characters. To make a larger document, save the file in DOC format, a major format for exchanging document files in Palm OS-based devices, and use a viewer application for DOC-format files to view the created files on your CLIÉ handheld.
To start the Memo Pad application
You can start the Memo Pad application in three ways shown below.

button on your CLIÉ handheld. |

| • | Rotate the Jog Dial navigator to select the Memo Pad icon and press the Jog Dial navigator on the CLIE Launcher screen. |
| • | Tap the Memo Pad icon on the CLIE Launcher screen. |
You do not need to install the Memo Pad application on
your CLIÉ handheld
The Memo Pad application is pre-installed at the factory.
Tip
You can turn on your CLIÉ handheld by pressing the Memo
Pad button. Make sure that the HOLD switch is not in the protect position.
