Recording with Voice Recorder
Voice Recorder setup
Before recording, select recording mode and where to store the recorded data. The settings remain until you change.

On the CLIE Launcher screen, rotate the Jog Dial navigator to select Voice Rec and press the Jog Dial navigator.
Or, tap the Voice Rec icon on the CLIE Launcher screen.
The Voice Recorder application starts and the Media screen appears.

Tap (Preferences).
The Preferences screen appears.

Make changes as necessary.
• Enable operation Beep: Enables the beep to sound when you tap on the screen while playing or recording. Tap to select the check box.
• Enable continuous play: Plays multiple audio data files successively after the current data file. Tap to select the check box.
• Mic Sens: Tap the arrow to select the sensitivity of the microphone.
- Low: To record dictation or in a noisy place.
- High: To record at meetings or in a quiet and/or spacious place.
• Recording Mode: Tap the arrow and select the desired recording mode.
- SP mode: Normal recording mode. (Sampling frequency: 22.05 kHz, maximum recording time: about 190 min*.)
- LP mode: Recording mode for longer recording time. (Sampling frequency: 8 kHz, maximum recording time: about 520 min*.)
* Using a 128 MB “Memory Stick” media.
• List/Rec.Media:  Specifies the list displayed on the screen and where to store the recorded data. Tap the arrow and select from Priority MS, MS, or Internal.
- Priority MS: Displays the list and records the data to the “Memory Stick” media if it was inserted in your CLIÉ handheld.
- MS: Displays the list and records the data to the “Memory Stick” media.
- Internal: Displays the list and records the data to the CLIÉ handheld.
• Maximum size for recording: Selects the maximum recordable data size for both the CLIÉ handheld and “Memory Stick” media. Tap the arrow to select from No Limit or For Alarm (62 KB).

Tap OK.
To cancel setting, tap Cancel.
Battery life during audio memo recording
With a fully charged battery, your CLIÉ handheld can record audio memo continuously for approximately the following length of time.
• With HOLD switch in protect position:  Approximately 6.5 hours
• With HOLD switch not in protect position:  Approximately 2.5 hours

Tip
You can start the Voice Recorder application and record at once by pressing the REC button on your CLIÉ handheld.

Press the REC button on your CLIÉ handheld.
Or, tap the REC button on the screen.
Recording starts. Record to the internal microphone on your CLIÉ handheld.
To stop recording
Press the REC button on your CLIÉ handheld, or tap the REC button on the screen again.
You can also tap to stop recording.
