Recording movies
1
On the CLIE 3D Launcher screen, rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select Movie Rec and then press the Jog Dial™ navigator, or tap the Movie Rec icon on the CLIE 3D Launcher screen.
The Movie Recorder application starts.
2
Adjust the screen position, and aim the lens at the subject.
You can record yourself by rotating the lens towards you.
A mirror image of yourself will be displayed on the viewfinder, but the recorded image will be a reverted image.
3
Press the CAPTURE/REC button, or tap REC button on the screen.
The recording starts.
4
Press the CAPTURE/REC button again to stop recording, or tap REC button on the screen.
The captured image will be recorded on a storage media.
Notes
Recording stops when you turn off your CLIÉ™ handheld.
You can record images with the screen panel closed (closed style).
The recording also continues when you close the screen panel after starting the Movie Recorder application.
If you set the HOLD switch to the write-protect position during recording mode, the recording will not stop using the CAPTURE/REC button or REC button on your CLIÉ™ handheld.
Insert a “Memory Stick™ ” media into your CLIÉ™ handheld in advance when you store movie files on a “Memory Stick™ ” media. Never remove it while recording.
The recording stops automatically when space is running short on a storage media.
You may still be able to record a short movie on the same storage media, but this is not a malfunction.
You may not be able to create a movie file if the recording was interrupted in any of the following ways.
- When the “Memory Stick™ ” media was removed during recording.
- When the battery level is running low.
This may happen when you start recording while charging the battery, and remove the CLIÉ™ handheld from the Charger Cradle before the battery was sufficiently charged.
Using the zoom function
You can zoom in on the subject you are aiming at to record a magnified view.
Tap (zoom) and select a desired zoom level (x 1, x 2 or x 3).
The subject you are currently aiming at is recorded in the selected zoom level.
