Storing sound data in your CLIÉ handheld
Using the Sound Converter 2 software, you can convert WAVE format and SMF format sound data on your computer to the format compatible to your CLIÉ handheld. The converted data can be played on your CLIÉ handheld by transferring it via a HotSync operation.
Transferring sound data to your CLIÉ handheld
On your computer, prepare the sound data to be played back on your CLIÉ handheld, then transfer them to your CLIÉ handheld.

Start the Sound Converter 2 software.

Select the sound data that you want to transfer to your CLIÉ handheld.

Click Add.
The Open dialog box appears.

Select the desired sound data from your computer’s drive.

Click Open.
The Open dialog box closes and the files are added to the file list.
To select more than one file, repeat the procedure described in step 2. Or, you can drag and drop the desired file to the Sound Converter 2 window.

Click Install on next HotSync.
The Starting Installation dialog box appears.

Click the arrow on the User Name field and select the user name of the receiving CLIÉ handheld from the list.
Note
Select the user name for your CLIÉ handheld. If you are using more than one CLIÉ handheld, the selected audio file may not playback depending on the Palm OS version of the CLIÉ handheld. For details, see Notes for Sound Converter software users.

Click Execute.
The Reserving Installation completed dialog box appears. Click OK. The data are set to be installed in the next HotSync operation.

Place your CLIÉ handheld on the cradle and press the HotSync button.
The selected sound data are transferred to your CLIÉ handheld.
Note
If the converted sound data size exceeds approximately 64 KB, the excess portion is deleted.
Note on sound data transferred to your CLIÉ handheld
The sound data transferred to your CLIÉ handheld is stored in either IMA ADPCM-format (System ADPCM Sounds.pdb) or Standard MIDI file-format (System MIDI Sounds.pdb).
If you delete these files, all sound data of the same format will be lost. It is recommended for you to back up using the CLIE Files application.
