Overview of the playback procedures
Follow the procedures below to play audio files using the Audio Player application (playback procedure varies for ATRAC3 format audio files and MP3 format audio files).
Playing ATRAC3-format audio files on your CLIÉ(TM) handheld

Install the SonicStage software onto your computer from the supplied Installation CD-ROM.
You must install the SonicStage software to convert and transfer the audio files stored on your computer to your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.
Read “Requirements for SonicStage” before installation.

Prepare audio files using the SonicStage software.
Record audio CDs on the hard disk drive of your computer in ATRAC3 format, or convert MP3-format audio files to ATRAC3-format audio files using the SonicStage software.

Transfer the audio files from your computer to your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.
Using the SonicStage software, check-out the audio files to your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.

A selected ATRAC3-format audio file transferred from your computer is played.

Prepare MP3-format audio files on your computer.
Prepare MP3-format audio files using a software for recording audio CDs in MP3 format. You cannot create MP3 format audio file using the SonicStage software supplied with your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.

Transfer audio files from your computer to your CLIÉ(TM) handheld.
Transfer audio files using Windows(R) Explorer.
