Creating a new album
You can create two types of albums: Photo Album and Binder.
A photo album is an album for storing still images, and a binder is an album for creating diaries and recipes.
An album consists of number of pages to which you can paste images and add comments. You can also categorize the albums that you have created.
Follow the procedure below to create an album.

On the CLIE 3D Launcher screen, rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select CLIE Album and then press the Jog Dial™ navigator, or tap CLIE Album icon on the CLIE 3D Launcher screen.
The CLIE Album application starts.


2 Tap (New).
The New Album Settings screen appears.

Enter the items as necessary.
Name: Enter the title. You can enter up to 30 characters in this field.
Group: Select a group to categorize albums.
Location: Select from Handheld, Int.Media or MS to store the created album. You can paste still images in the album stored on the same media.
Comment: Enter comment as necessary.

Tap OK.
The Select Template screen appears.

Tap the arrow at the upper-right corner of the screen to select a type of template that you want to use.
A template specifies how you want to display and what kind of information you want to show in an album.
Photo Album: A standard format template. You can paste still images and create an album.


Binder: A template used for specific purposes. You can create diaries and recipes using this template.

Tap and select a template.
The Confirm Template dialog box appears.
7 Tap OK.
A new album is created.
Pasting still images on album
You can paste still images in an album to create a new page or to edit an existing page. You can paste more than one image at a time.
Tip
When you are using PGP-format still images in CLIE Album, you need to convert them to JPEG format beforehand.

To convert multiple image see “Transferring still images to your computer.”

To use PGP-format still images stored in a different CLIÉ™ handheld, copy them to your CLIÉ™ handheld using a “Memory Stick™ ” media.
Pasting a still image on a new page

Tap and select an album to paste still images on the Album Index screen.
The list of pages included in the selected album appears.

Tap .
The thumbnails of still images with check box are displayed on the screen.

Tap on the check box to select still image files.
Tap Select All to select all the still image files displayed on the screen.

Tap OK.
The selected still images are pasted in the album.
Pasting a still image on an existing page

Tap and select an album to paste still images on the Album Index screen.
The list of pages included in the selected album appears.

Tap and select a page that you want to paste image to.

Tap the arrow at the lower right corner of the image area and select Insert - CLIE Viewer or Insert - CLIE Camera.
CLIE Viewer: Select to choose from image files managed with the CLIE Viewer application.
CLIE Camera: Capture a still image with the CLIE Camera application.
The selected or captured image is pasted on to the page.
Note
When you delete the original image with other application, the thumbnail image may not appear on the album.
Pasting images selected in CLIE Viewer
You can select image files and paste them on an existing album from the CLIE Viewer application. For details, see CLIE Viewer.

On the CLIE 3D Launcher screen, rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select CLIE Viewer and then press the Jog Dial™ navigator, or tap the CLIE Viewer icon on the CLIE 3D Launcher screen.
The CLIE Viewer application starts.

Tap , then select CLIE Album.
The check box for selecting the image file appears on the thumbnail.

Tap on the check box to select image files.
You can select more than one image file. Tap Select All to select all the files displayed on the screen.

Tap OK.
The Select Album screen appears.

Select an album to enter the image file.
The selected images are added on to the selected album.
Pasting images edited using Photo Editor
You can paste a still image edited using the Photo Editor application in an album.
Tip
You can also use the following procedure to convert still images in PGP format to JPEG format.

On the CLIE 3D Launcher screen, rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select Photo Editor and then press the Jog Dial™ navigator, or tap the Photo Editor icon on the CLIE 3D Launcher screen.
The Photo Editor application starts and the Select Canvas screen appears.

Tap Image Canvas.
The Create Image Canvas screen appears.

Tap Select background image.
The Select screen appears.

Tap the desired background image to edit.

Tap OK.

Edit and save the image.
Tip
When you want to save a PGP-format image in the JPEG format, select Save to new file.

Tap then select CLIE Album.
The Select Album screen appears.

Select an album where you want to paste the image file.
Tap New to create a new album and enter the album name.
The selected images are added on to the selected album.
Pasting images captured in CLIE Camera
You can automatically add a still image captured with the CLIE Camera application by selecting an existing album beforehand. For details, see CLIE Camera.

On the CLIE 3D Launcher screen, rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select CLIE Camera and then press the Jog Dial™ navigator, or tap the CLIE Camera icon on the CLIE 3D Launcher screen.
The CLIE Camera application starts.

Tap .
The Select Album screen appears.

Select an album to paste the captured image.
To create a new album, tap New.

Press the CAPTURE/REC button on your CLIÉ™ handheld to record an image.
The captured image is automatically pasted on to the selected album. To change the album, repeat steps 2 to 3, and then capture the image again.
Adding comments to a page
You can add comments such as description of the images to a page. The comment can be added either before or after pasting the image.
The type of comments you can add varies depending on the template that you have selected.

On the Album Index screen, tap and select an album to add comments to.
The Page Index screen of the selected album appears.

Tap and select a page to add comments to.
The selected page appears on the screen.

Tap on Comment.
The Comment dialog box appears.

Enter a comment, then tap OK.
